C-SPAN will be recording “The National Security State & JFK” conference in its entirety. This is a testament to the conference’s impressive line-up of speakers and the ideas that they are presenting. Set your DVRs or watch the conference live.
The conference will begin with an analysis by the noted economist Jeffrey Sachs of Kennedy’s famous “Peace Speech” at American University in June 1963 and end with a panel presentation on President Kennedy featuring Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone. You will hear some of the most insightful and thought-provoking talks on the national-security state, including one by former GOP Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul, and Stephen Kinzer (former New York Times reporter and author of Overthrow: America’s Century of Regime Change from Hawaii to Iraq); Douglas Horne (author of Inside the Assassination Records Review Board: The U.S. Government’s Final Attempt to Reconcile the Conflicting Medical Evidence in the Assassination of JFK); Michael Glennon (author of National Security and Double Government); Peter Janney (author of Mary’s Mosaic: The CIA Conspiracy to Murder John F. Kennedy, Mary Pinchot Meyer, and Their Vision for World Peace); Jefferson Morley (author of CIA & JFK: The Secret Assassination Files); James DiEugenio (author of The Assassinations and Reclaiming Parkland), Michael Swanson (author of The War State), and Jacob G. Hornberger (FFF president and author of The Kennedy Autopsy).
At this conference you will learn how and why America was converted from a limited-government republic to a national-security state, how America’s foreign policy of regime-change has adversely impacted our country and others, and how the United States became the premier country in the area of assassination.
You will also learn about President John F. Kennedy’s policies during the Cold War, his dramatic decision to reach out to the Soviet Union and communist world in a spirit of friendship and peaceful coexistence, and the enormously adverse, negative, and volatile reaction to JFK’s plans to change the direction of our country.
