The Real Rick Perry – or – A great list of Perry’s Follies

[Editor’s note:  This article was shared by Penny Langford Freeman in response to a question by Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America recently.  It is reprinted here for my friends who might even be considering this man to any other office in the land.   This track record is not worthy of a promotion./sc]

A great list of Perry’s “follies”

FACTS EVERYONE MIGHT NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RICK PERRY……WHAT THE GOP ESTABLISHMENT WON’T TELL YOU….

#1 Rick Perry is a “big government” politician. When Rick Perry became the governor of Texas in 2000, the total spending by the Texas state government was approximately $ 49 billion. Ten years later it was approximately $ 90 billion. That is not exactly reducing the of government.

#2 The debt of the state of Texas is out of control. According to usdebtclock.org, the debt to GDP ratio in Texas is 22.9% and the debt per citizen is $ 10,645. In California (a total financial basket case), the debt to GDP ratio is just 18.7% and the debt per citizen is only $ 9932. If Rick Perry runs for president these are numbers he will want to keep well hidden.

#3 The total debt of the Texas government has more than doubled since Rick Perry became governor. So what would the U.S. national debt look like after four (or eight) years of Rick Perry?

#4 Rick Perry has spearheaded the effort to lease roads in Texas to foreign companies, to turn roads that are already free to drive on into toll roads, and to develop the Trans-Texas Corridor which would be part of the planned NAFTA superhighway system. If you really do deep research on this whole Trans-Texas Corridor nonsense you will see why no American should ever cast a single vote for Rick Perry.

#5 Rick Perry claims that he has a “track record” of not raising taxes. That is a false claim. Rick Perry has repeatedly raised taxes and fees while he has been governor. Today, Texans are faced with significantly higher taxes and fees than they were before Rick Perry was elected.

#6 Even with the oil boom in Texas, 23 states have a lower unemployment rate than Texas does.

#7 Back in 1988, Rick Perry supported Al Gore for president. In fact, Rick Perry actually served as Al Gore’s campaign chairman in the state of Texas that year.

#8 Between December 2007 and April 2011, weekly wages in the U.S. increased by about 5 percent. In the state of Texas they increased by just 0.6% over that same time period.

#9 Texas now has one of the worst education systems in the nation. The following is from an opinion piece that was actually authored by Barbara Bush earlier this year….
• We rank 36th in the nation in high school graduation rates. An estimated 3.8 million Texans do not have a high school diploma.
• We rank 49th in verbal SAT scores, 47th in literacy and 46th in average math SAT scores.
• We rank 33rd in the nation on teacher salaries.

#10 Rick Perry attended the Bilderberg Group meetings in 2007 and 2011. Associating himself with that organization should be a red flag for all American voters.

#11 Texas has the highest percentage of workers making minimum wage out of all 50 states.

#12 Rick Perry often gives speeches about illegal immigration, but when you look at the facts, he has been incredibly soft on the issue. If Rick Perry does not plan to secure the border, then he should not be president because illegal immigration is absolutely devastating many areas of the southwest United States.

#13 In 2007, 221,000 residents of Texas were making minimum wage or less. By 2010, that number had risen to 550,000.

#14 Rick Perry actually issued an executive order in 2007 that would have forced almost every single girl in the state of Texas to receive the Gardasil vaccine before entering the sixth grade. Perry would have put parents in a position where they would have had to fill out an application and beg the government not to inject their child with an untested and unproven vaccine. Since then, very serious safety issues regarding this vaccine have come to light. Fortunately, lawmakers in Texas blocked what Perry was trying to do. According to Wikipedia, many were troubled when “apparent financial connections between Merck and Perry were reported by news outlets, such as a $ 6,000 campaign contribution and Merck’s hiring of former Perry Chief of Staff Mike Toomey to handle its Texas lobbying work.”

    • Apparently Miss Vickie wouldn’t know the truth if it bit her you know where. There’s enough information here to sink a potential presidential contender unless you were ‘called’ by your global masters and power-brokers to continue to fleece the sheep. We’ll see if it works again like it did for another Texas governor. I exchanged several twitters trying to help this lady to see, but all she wanted to do was name call and put me on her very own troll list warning people about @scrosnoe. So you figure out who you want to listen to and where the truth really is in this matter.

In the meantime if you haven’t read Kelleigh Nelson’s piece on Perry here, it is well worth the time. It is part 5 of a 5-part series on various candidates. If you share a link be sure to use the link to 5 so that people can get to all the parts of the series.

  2. Watch for Globalist GOP Insiders to roll out a “Dream Team” eventually, and the manipulation of the Evangelicals is foundational to the Dream Team Scheme. The script calls for Perry to rally the faithful to prayer in Houston (August 6th). The prayer event is designed to blitz our Charismatic & Evangelical sector of the GOP with Perry as the man of the hour to save the Republicans from a lackluster field. We might expect it to fall flat, but most Charismatics aren’t very sophisticated. When they hear someone say ‘I love Jesus’ and then pledge their undying support for the nation-state of Israel, these people throw up their skirt and swoon in rapture before the cunning poseur, forgetting scriptures that warn them how the very elect will be deceived.

  4. Thank you, Ron Paul sheep, for saying that Charismatics & Evangelicals are stupid and are not very sophisticated. That’s all I need to read to know that there’s nothing of value here.

    • This particular charismatic, bible believing, Jesus loving, evangelical supports Ron Paul.
I cannot figure out what motivated you to write such a comment here!
Hope you get your eyes opened about Rick Perry soon. The record speaks for itself.

  5. Sorry rj, but the scriptures say the elect will not be deceived. Jesus , unlike prooftexters, was The Word and a master of hyperbole. If these are indeed true about Perry, he may fool the ‘electorate’ but not the elect. Oh, and BTW, Jesus was referring to false doctrine, not polictical doubletalk. Since when is any politician bound to the Truth. Even the Liberatarian’s hero, Ron, never saw pork I didn’t like, Paul, who is either senile or totally out of touch with ‘who our enemies are’ when it comes to his foreign policy format.

  6. You forgot about the fact that Texas was the first state to give in-state tuition to ILLEGAL immigrants! In 2001. Perry signed the law. Doesn’t give a crap. Mean while, I am a natural born citizen and the son of a LEGAL immigrant. I’ve lived in Texas for a year, I pay my own taxes and I am still charged $16,000 more per year than people in this country illegally! How is that ethical!? Perry is slime. Good ol boy career politician!

Please, put this at the top of the issues! Rick Perry gives in-state tuition to ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!

That’s no half truth Victoria. I have to go to bed every night wondering how I’m going to pay off the roughly $90,000 in debt I will have after graduation because of Perry’s RINOism.

  7. Dear Sandra Crosnoe, THANK YOU and God Bless! I am also a charismatic, bible believing, Jesus loving, Ron Paul supporter. It just Breaks my heart that so many Christians are being deceived yet again after George W. Bush, who just used the Christian coalition to achieve his agenda. What kind of Christian would promote a pre-emptive war on a country (Iraq) who had NOTHING to do with the attack on 9/11? It was all about revenge on Saddam and his comments about daddy Bush! Also that war has only created MORE HATRED towards America, AND wasn’t going to cost the taxpers a Dime! Jesus Christ was about LOVE, not about attacking some made up bogeyman first! God Bless America!

  8. RINO RIck Perry is taken to emergency room for treatment today. Immediate repair [edited] required as he was “ripped a new one” by Alex Jones on Infowars. Listen to the 3rd hour (15 August 2011) on Youtube.com. GOv. Perry’s HPV policy/mandate resulted in deaths and injury of Texas school girls.

  9. Ron Paul is and has been the best solution to what ails our nation for since 1986 and he has not wavered on his stance of pure patriotism and constitutionalism. His statement on faith is so clear and yet he doesn’t spout it as the other guy with the same initials. I have supported Ron Paul all the way and I am not ‘stupid’ about who the true “Sheeple” are. People who love having a puppet whom they can control are the despots of our nation and the only “problem’ with Ron Paul is that he WILL NOT be bought by the big companies and the filthy rich. He is the only person I know in the House or the Senate who has declined the obscene benefits package upon leaving his post as Congressman. He is HONEST and without greed or graft! Those who are used to being able to control the president of our country do not want Ron Paul because they know they cannot control him. On the other hand, Rick Perry is the perfect marionette with all kinds of strings attached.
