Then we discovered what prompted the post on Ampersand’s left leaning site:

And now we just cannot stop laughing at both of them.  Do we find both of these so humourous because most of us recognize ourselves in both of them? Does that mean that we are somewhere in the mushy middle of America working to survive daily as we also strive to restore the republic? The art of relationships and healthy debate can be aided by humor if we let it. We hope you enjoy this little side by side or a walk on the far side.  You decide.
