The Constitutional Conservative Alliance will be sponsoring the “Taking America Back”, the National Sovereignty Symposium, on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Omaha’s Qwest Center.
According to their website, “We strive to advance all constitutional rights and privileges ratified by our founding fathers in 1789. (We serve) as a forum for the study and exploration of state and individual sovereignty issues, focusing primarily on the decentralization of federal government power. “ Their mission: “…to bring together representatives of the states in an effort to regain our constitutional powers as set down in the Tenth Amendment” of the Constitution. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the Symposium will conclude at 4:15 p.m. with a farewell reception.
The keynote speaker will be Judge Andrew Napolitano, Senior Judicial Analyst of the FOX News Channel, Host of Foxnews.com’s Freedom Watch, and co-host of FOX News Radio’s daily show Brian and the Judge. Judge Napolitano served as New Jersey’s youngest life-tenured Superior Court Judge for 8 years, and for 11 years as an adjunct professor of constitutional law at Seton Hall Law School. He has written five books: Constitutional Chaos: What Happens When the Government Breaks Its Own Laws (2006); a New York Times bestseller, The Constitution in Exile: How the Federal Government Has Seized Power by Rewriting the Supreme Law of the Land (2006); A Nation of Sheep (2007); Dred Scott’s Revenge: A Legal History of Race and Freedom in America (2009); and Lies the Government Told You: Myth, Power, and Deception in American History (March 2010).Other speakers include, but are not limited to:
-State Rep. Matt Shea (WA) – sponsor of state sovereignty legislation
-State Sen. Tony Fulton (NE) – primary sponsor of Nebraska’s state sovereignty resolution
-State Rep. Charles Key (OK) – state and national leader calling for a return to our constitutional form of government; author of “The Tenth Amendment Resolution”
-State Rep. Susan Lynn (TN) – pivotal figure in the passage of the Tennessee Sovereignty Resolution
-State Rep. Brandon Creighton (TX) – author of the Texas Sovereignty Resolution
-Glenn Freeman, Constitutional Scholar and chairman of the National Council of Censors, a watchdog organization designed to monitor Congressional compliance with the U.S. Constitution
