Press Release: For Immediate Release
Growing Movement Strikes at Fed Across the Country
The End the Fed group (a growing movement of citizens concerned with the country’s fiscal policies) will gather in over 39 cities nationwide at each Federal Reserve location demanding their Congress to pass H.R. 1207 – the Federal Reserve Transparency Act and H.R. 833 – Repeal the Federal Reserve Act. Nationwide rallies planned for Saturday, April 25th are a follow up to the first rallies held on November 22, 2008 at Federal Reserve Banks across the nation.
April’s rallies will be both the culmination of a massive petition drive and the gearing up for a “burn up the phone/fax lines to DC” campaign on April 27th. Many famous and expert speakers and elected officials will participate at the various locations. In Dallas, Texas, they will gather in front of the Federal Reserve building—at the corner of Pearl Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway Saturday at 12 p.m.
Speakers will include potential candidate for Governor of Texas, Debra Medina, founder and CEO of Prudentia Inc., a medical consulting firm. Medina has been an active member of the Republican party for 17 years and currently is the chair of the Wharton County Republican Party as well as the Texas Campaign for Liberty state coordinator. She’s been married to her husband, Noe, for 26 years, and they have homeschooled and raised two children. Medina has been an advocate of private property rights, gun ownership, individual responsibility and adherence to the Constitution. She has actively opposed big government, taxes, bailouts, mandatory vaccinations, the Trans Texas Corridor, and abortion.
First-time Dallas City Council candidate, John Jay Myers, is running for district seven. Myers is a father, husband, small business owner, and 15-year resident of South Dallas. He is an advocate for the ideas of Austrian Economics and believes “that the Government should always be the supplier of last resort.”
Anthony Reed has lived in Haltom City for 16 years, and is running for the Haltom City Council, seat two. “Nothing is more important to me than the rights of all Haltom City citizens and businesses; and it is the respect, protection, and service of these rights from our government that will make Haltom City rise to the top – to become a beacon of Liberty and greatness to all of Texas.”
Christopher Hatley, a local author and 27-year veteran of the United States Army, is involved in promoting a conservative policy agenda for Texas and the country. “Given our current economic situation, it is obvious that the FRS (Federal Reserve System) is not meeting the purposes for which it was intended.”
Radio personality, Mark Anderson of Republic Broadcasting, will discuss the American media and its role in influencing the general populace. Anderson joined the American Free Press as a national correspondent in early 2007. He writes “Across the Nation,” an ongoing series of reports on how Americans are trying to defend and regain control of their nation. His commentaries, The Big Picture and Probing the Media, also run in AFP.
Financial advisor and journalist, Dr. W. Neil Gallagher, is president and Chief Executive Officer of the Gallagher Group. Gallagher also hosts the financial talk show, “The Money Doctor” on KAAM.
Texas gubernatorial candidate, Larry Kilgore , will be discussing how to allow for a free market economy to prevail both domestically and internationally. “The US government must abolish the Federal Reserve and allow Congress to reassert its constitutional authority over monetary policy. However, few of us believe this will occur. Therefore, we should research alternative scenarios and their implications for Texas.”
Local organizer, Debbie McKee, is a former homeschooling mother of 3, turned full-time grassroots activist living in northeast Texas. She saw the need to organize the Dallas rally and stepped up to do it. Her research led her to the conclusion that the Federal Reserve System is at the heart of the crisis. “I am devoting my time to help shed light on the Federal Reserve, to encourage others to get involved and to find trans-partisan as well as non-political solutions that will bring us back to sound financial policies that will benefit Americans for generations to come. We must work to reverse the damaging policies in place for almost 100 years.”
Co-organizer, Eddie Allen, media liaison for the Dallas branch of End the Fed, is a political activist and journalist promoting freedom and liberty. The hyper-inflation of American currency, the funding of worldwide interventionist military policies, the unconstitutional income tax, the recent bailout, and the engineered economic depressions the Fed causes have all motivated Allen’s involvement in seeking transparency for the Fed’s actions. “We are part of a national movement to right a sinking ship. With so many people looking for buckets to bail water, it’s rather disheartening that the Fed keeps pumping more water below decks by means of printing untold amounts of cash. This makes our ship of state less buoyant and our only life boat is a sound currency.”
Jarrod Atkinson will serve as master of ceremonies at the rally. He is an economist from Dallas, Texas, and has been a vocal critic of the Federal Reserve plus a strong supporter of local candidates. He has continued to share his knowledge to support and defend the constitution by taking on the Federal Reserve System and becoming a Dallas County Republican Party Precinct Chair. Atkinson advocates the Austrian School of Economics and steers clear from any partisan economics. “We, the People, need to know where all that money is coming from and going to. We have a right to know how much the Federal Reserve has printed. We have a right to know who is getting our money and how they are using it. Fifty-eight Congressmen have co-sponsored H.R. 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, including: Pete Sessions, Kenny Marchant, Michael Burgess, and Ted Poe. But, we still need more. This isn’t a Republican or Democrat issue. We – conservatives, liberals, independents, whatever – demand to know what’s going on at the Fed.”
