Sandra Crosnoe for Republican National Delegate — Oklahoma Congressional District 01 in Tulsa April 14th

R3publicans

Here’s an open letter to share with friends going to the Republican Party District 01 Convention in Tulsa this weekend.  I am asking for your vote and your prayers and your support in this effort.  Thank you for all you do for life and for liberty in our land!

Dear Republican Friends/Leadership,

Most of you know me from things we have worked on together or via websites/blogs/emails/ and our mutual efforts to get our country back on course. I would love to represent you and serve in the capacity of a delegate to the National GOP Convention this year. I believe my experience serves the party well in this role. Most know that I have worked tirelessly to move the ship of state in the ‘right’ direction. I place core principles and operating philosophy above party, because I believe that is what will best grow our party and solve the tremendous problems we face. While Christian values will always trump party politics, I think that is what makes our party the hope of the nation — because we do honor ethics and values in our party.  Sure we need to do better and we will as we challenge one another in the process and as we shine the light on matters.

We as a party must now come to a consensus and work together in the days ahead not only to defeat Obama, but to elect principled conservative, Republicans up and down the ladder.  You know me and that  I will continue to work to get out the truth and build our party around core principles.  On that you can rest assured.  In addition to that, I will continue to work to keep people involved in productive ways. There is much we all agree on and much left for us to debate as we work toward difficult economic solutions ahead and get our businesses set free from over-reaching regulations so that they can truly prosper and innovate and create jobs.  We need less government — a lot less government!

Through the years I have served on most committees and in most volunteer roles available in campaigns and relative to issues advocacy in the Republican Party both in Texas and now in Oklahoma.  In recent years, I have focused on communications networks and mentoring future leaders.  I appreciate the many people and the countless hours that go into making our party great.  You are a part of that process.  Thank you!  Together, we must hold our own people and our own party accountable to our platform and core principles even as we challenge our opponents on substantive matters.

It is important what we say and how we say it. The message and the actions must line up!  I helped with some of the original teaparty efforts and rallies and became widely known for social networking;  training and mentoring others all along the way.  I will work with you to continue to grow our party and I believe that in doing so we will all help to Restore the Republic in the process.  This will cause others to join us and actively engage as they see that we mean business and we mean what we say.

I ask for your support to be a delegate to the Republican National Convention to be held in Tampa later this year. I will do my best to represent you well and will work with with others to reach consensus on what is truly best for our party and our nation.  We will achieve our common goals together.  We must.  The very future of the nation depends upon us doing so.

Naomi Wolf: How I was arrested at Occupy Wall Street

Arresting a middle-aged writer in an evening gown for peaceable conduct is a far cry from when America was a free republic

Report from Naomi Wolf (October 19, 2011):

Last night I was arrested in my home town, outside an event to which I had been invited, for standing lawfully on the sidewalk in an evening gown.

Let me explain; my partner and I were attending an event for the Huffington Post, for which I often write: Game Changers 2011, in a venue space on Hudson Street. As we entered the space, we saw that about 200 Occupy Wall Street protesters were peacefully assembled and were chanting. They wanted to address Governor Andrew Cuomo, who was going to be arriving at the event. They were using a technique that has become known as “the human mic” – by which the crowd laboriously repeats every word the speaker says – since they had been told that using real megaphones was illegal.

In my book Give Me Liberty, a blueprint for how to open up a closing civil society, I have a chapter on permits – which is a crucial subject to understand for anyone involved in protest in the US. In 70s America, protest used to be very effective, but in subsequent decades municipalities have sneakily created a web of “overpermiticisation” – requirements that were designed to stifle freedom of assembly and the right to petition government for redress of grievances, both of which are part of our first amendment. One of these made-up permit requirements, which are not transparent or accountable, is the megaphone restriction.

Ron Paul Campaign Presses Perry on Big Government Record and Fake Rhetoric

Issues open letter knocking Perry’s liberal record
__________
LAKE JACKSON, Texas– 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul’s campaign continues to challenge Rick Perry in the lead up to tonight’s Republican presidential debate. Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton released an open letter to Gov. Perry focusing on his record as Texas head of state, pointing out inconsistencies with his new Tea Party rhetoric. See text of letter below.

Subject: Rick Perry Can’t Handle the Truth
An open letter from Campaign Chairman Jesse BentonDear Governor Perry,After our campaign’s first ad highlighting your Big Government record and support for liberal Al Gore, your campaign is attacking Dr. Paul – missing the point of why your past is important.

We don’t think the fact that you used to be a Democrat is the big problem here. The real problem is that, too often, you still act like one. Even you yourself, Governor Perry, said of your party switch, “I will still vote the same principles, only with an R after my name.”

That’s the kind of thinking that has our country teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. We cannot afford to nominate someone who thinks the letter next to their name is more important than what they believe.

Governor Perry, let me be clear: It is not that you supported Al Gore that worries us.

It is that you supported Hillary Clinton’s health care plan.

You pushed for federal bailout and stimulus funds.

You support welfare for illegal immigrants.

You tried to forcibly vaccinate12-year-old girls against sexually transmitted diseases by executive order.

You raised taxes twice.

And, state debt has more than doubled in your tenure as governor, pushing Texas to the brink of our constitutional debt limit.

It’s that you supported ALL of these bad ideas that are inconsistent with how most Republicans understand conservatism, yet you now try to swagger your way into the Tea Party.

Governor Perry, with all due respect, you have used great rhetoric. But you will have to answer to the voters of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and across the country as to why that rhetoric does not match your record.

For Liberty,

Jesse Benton
Campaign Chairman

OK-SAFE: FEMA’s Re-mapping of Oklahoma – Stealing Home

FEMA’s Re-mapping of Oklahoma – Stealing Home

oksafeinc | August 26, 2011 at 10:43 pm  | URL: http://wp.me/pvYI8-aq

OK-SAFE recently had the opportunity to interview two Oklahomans about their encounters with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Administration, aka the Mob), local officials and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB). One successfully rebuffed the officials; the other was not so successful.
What was the issue? The designation of their (non-flooding) property as being in a flood zone, resulting in the devaluation of the property; the limitations on development of the land; the devaluation of the land as collateral; reducing the future sell-ability of said property; and the forced purchase of flood insurance for said property.

Listening to the accounts of these two separate incidents it appears that the maps being used to determine the flood zone designation are rather whimsical: it all depends on which map the agent is using, and whether you want to be designated as flood zone or not. The gentleman in the township of Skiatook, OK was actually presented with 3 different maps over the course of three days. He resisted the OWRB/FEMA efforts and they actually backed down.
This was not the case in Ramona, OK.

There, a family with 40 acres of property was surprised to find that their property was now designated as being ‘Zone A High Risk’ flood zone. The property has been in their family since 1946, has never flooded, and the land is actually mapped as upland agriculture. The result of the ‘Zone A High Risk’ flood zone designation has been a 50% decrease in the assessed value of their property.

FEMA and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board are using stealth methods to steal property in Oklahoma; in essence, they’re stealing home.

Listen to their stories on America in the Balance on Truth in Focus internet radio here. (http://www.truthinfocus.org/radio/america_in_the_balance.php)

For an excellent analysis of the FEMA/Oklahoma Water Resources Board activities and ties to sustainable development see article below posted on Axxiom For Liberty.

Oklahoma Water Resources Board/FEMA Flood Map Follies, by Kaye Beach.

August 24, 2011
America in the Balance, an internet radio program hosted by Amanda Teegarden (Exec. Director, OK-SAFE, Inc.) & Don Wyatt (Tulsa 912) did a very interesting show on the FEMA Flood mapping taking place in our state last Sunday.

Their two guests David McClain and Margaret Snow shared their experiences with FEMA and the new floodplain maps that are being drawn up in Oklahoma.
The two are looking for other Oklahomans who have had a similar experience with FEMA and their new maps. OK. Attorney General Scott Pruitt has agreed to take a look at documented instances of questionable FEMA flood re-designations. (Contact information can be found at the end of this article.)

These flood maps produced by FEMA will indicate which property owners must purchase flood insurance. Development is discouraged in the designated zones and building or development in the floodplains is often highly regulated

If you have had your property’s flood designation changed or had an encounter with FEMA or the Oklahoma Water Resources Board regarding floodplain designation, you will be interested in these two stories.

(Listen to the archived show here or read the summary I have written from the radio show interviews.)

Skiatook Township, David McLain
David McLain, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Skiatook tells Amanda and Don that a few weeks ago he noticed some officials taking measurements on his property. David approached the two gentlemen to find out what they were doing. The two identified themselves as being with FEMA and informed Mr. McClain that they were working on adjusting floodplain designations. One of the agents, Gavin Brady, although he introduced himself as being with FEMA, the business card he handed to David showed him as being with the Oklahoma Water Resource Board. The other agent is reported to be Matthew Rollins.

Curious as to why the man is representing both FEMA and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, I did a little searching and found that the OWRB is under a cooperative agreement with FEMA and is the coordinating state agency for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for the state of Oklahoma. link
Map Modernization

The OWRB website explains that this is a “Map Modernization” effort;
“Many of the nation’s flood hazard maps are outdated and no longer realistically depict the true flood risk. As a result, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is conducting a multi-year effort, the Map Modernization Program, to update these maps and present them in a more reliable digital format that is easily accessible to local and state floodplain officials” link
